All you need are 2 ingredients to help fight jetlag.

This Chinese herbal tea is designed to be invigorating, helping you stay awake and alert during the day if you’re jet lagging.

I needed SIMPLE ingredients. We were staying at an airbnb this time around and I didn’t have access to my usual home supplies of pantry ingredients or equipment!

You can get dried red dates at any supermarket in Hong Kong and fresh ginger is readily available.  That’s all you really need to make this punchy herbal tea that helps circulate your Qi and blood, strengthening your spleen and stomach, and helps address fatigue.

What’s involved?

 Prep time: 2 mins

Cook time: 2 mins (steeped)

Total time: 4 mins

Serves: 1 cup

Ingredients

Cooking Instructions

  1. Peel and slice your ginger. I will use the knife to also scrape the peel off the ginger and slice thinly. You can add as much or as little as you like depending on the spicy preference.
  2. Add in dried red dates.  Slicing is also optional as this will release more flavors.
  3. Add in boiling water.
  4. Cover and steep for 2 minutes.
  5. Serve and enjoy!
  6. You can refill with boiling water around 3 times before the flavors run weak. Replenish any of the ingredients any time.

This is the glass with diffuser tea cup that I will sometimes use to separate the tea from the ingredients. Super easy to use, super easy to clean, and dishwashing friendly!
