It’s been raining non-stop for a week in Hong Kong. Humidity levels hit 87% and it’s hot!
The perfect tea is this damp-heat clearing Chinese herbal tea to dispel excess moisture from the body, help relieve some of the internal heat, and allow for our yin to be nourished and replenished.
There are a few variations of damp-heat clearing teas. You can also add raw or cooked barley or any of your other favourite beans, such as red beans, mung beans, or green beans.

I will use teabags like this from amazon. They are recyclable and decomposable, which are environmentally friendly and the whole tea bag can go into the organic waste bin!
They are perfect for loose teas, herbs that fall apart (like rice and barley), and sometimes, I use them to hold my Chinese herbs if I’m using these in Chinese soups.
