Check out the video for what ingredients I used for my basic Chinese soup pantry ingredients.  I keep these stocked all year round and constantly filled because that’s how useful they are!  You’ll find at least 2 or 3 of these in each of my basic soup recipes!  You can buy these at your local Chinese supermarkets or herbal shops.

My mother recently passed away and I have been missing her soups which she prepared regularly when we were growing up. I regret I did not learn her recipes so I was very excited to have found your website and I love your videos. They are simple but so informative. Really love them. I do have some questions. #1. How long can I keep the herbs if they are refrigerated? #2. How do you know whether the herbs are organic? #3. I have seen dried yams that are white as chalk and other yams slightly more beige in color with a little brown on the edges. Is one better than the other? #4. Is there a soup recipe you would recommend for toddlers to maintain their overall health? I look forward to your answers. Thanks so much.

Can you provide the link to Chinese ingredients,:packaging and descriptions?
I stumbled across it in the past and it has helped me locate items. Did you move it or replace it? It was a wonderful reference page. Thank you!
